The Information We Collect

The information we gather from customers helps us personalise and continually improve the user experience at Init.

Here are the types of information we gather:

We do not collect any or store any personally identifying information when you scan a barcode. We do store the barcode number that you scanned, but this information can not be linked back to you or your device. 

If you send us photos of a new or incorrect product we will store your device identification number along with the photos.

Why We Collect Information

  • We collect barcode numbers that are scanned so that we may ensure that they most often scanned products are always up to date.

  • We collect the device id of users who submit photos so that we may match those photos to all the previous photos sent by that device id.

Who We Share Information With

We share customer information only as described below.

Third-Party Service Providers: We occasionally use other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. During some visits we may use third-party software tools (eg, Google Analytics) to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page. . Where necessary, these third-parties may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

Protection of Init and Others: We will release information and data when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Init, our users, or others. 


We work to protect the security of your information by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you transmit.

If you choose to visit Init, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Notice and our Terms of Use, including limitations on damages, disputes, and choice of law. Our business changes constantly, and so our Privacy Notice and the Terms of Use may change also. We may email periodic reminders of our notices and conditions, unless you have instructed us not to, but you should check our apps again to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Notice applies to all information that we have about you and your account. We stand behind the promises we make, however, and will not materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of customer information collected without the consent of users.
